The Works of Edgar Allan Poe

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Mike Rucker presents Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart and other stories and poems.  A retired Caterpillar engineer, Rucker is an author, runner, and long-time fan of Poe's works.  He is also a member of both the friends of Cullom-Davis Library and the Peoria Historical Society.

Gillum Ferguson is a retired federal prosecutor, who has a lifelong interest in Illinois history and has published articles on history, law and theology in numerous journals.  His recently published Illinois in the War of 1812 and notes that he conducted much of his research in the library's Special Collections Center.  More information on his book can be found by clicking HERE.  A book signing will follow his talk.

This year marks the bicentennial of the War of 1812 and will include a major symposium on April 26-28 at the Embasssy Suites in East Peoria sponsored by the Illinois State Historical Society.
