Special Orders No 18 Extract to the Head Quarters Post based in Springfield, IL from Colonel H.H.Dean, Official:J.P. Hodges Post Adj. Extract states that James. J.A.T. Dixon Chaplain of 146 Reg't Illinois Infantry was directed by Brigadier General John Cook to be transferred to Great Western Railroad o prohibit the sale of liquors along said line to U.S. Troops traversing along the Railroad. When mission accomplished Dixon was to return to Head Quarters. Transportation provided. Copy of original onto 8.5x14
