Roll Out the Barrel Tour

From 1850 to Prohibition, the volume of whiskey distilled, aged, bottled and shipped made Peoria the whiskey capital.  The distilleries, several large breweries, and extensive stockyards here also created the second largest grain market in the country.

 The Trolley Tour runs every Saturday in 

 

June (June 6, 13, 20, 27)

July (July 11, 18, 16, 25 ) No Tour on July 4th

August  (August 1, 8, 15, 22, 29)

Time: 1:30 P.M. (1½ hours)

The Tour leaves from Kelleher's Irish Pub
619 SW Water Street (near State St.), Peoria, IL
Parking is available across the street from Kelleher's.

For tickets, call (309) 673-6000 

Cost: $15 tour ticket purchased at Kelleher's Irish Pub plus $1 paid to trolley driver. Seniors 65 and older need a tour ticket, but with proof of age, do not need to pay the $1 trolley fare.

As "Whiskey Capital of the World" Peoria once featured a riverfront lined with distilleries and breweries. This tour focuses on the places adn people, the mansions and neighborhoods involved with these industries.

Henri de Tonti Celebration 2015

The 2015 PHS Henri de Tonti Award a for Outstanding Principled Community Leadership will be presented during a celebration ceremony on Saturday, September 26 in the ballroom of the Peoria Civic Center
