Trolley Tours

Explore Peoria, the oldest continuously settled site in the state of Illinois, with one of the many Historical Trolley Tours provided by the Peoria Historical Society and their professional, certified tour guides. 

From 1850 to Prohibition, the volume of whiskey distilled, aged, bottled and shipped made Peoria the whiskey capital. Learn more during the Roll Out the Barrel Tour

Explore Peoria's premier scenic drive - dubbed the World's Most Beautiful Drive by President Theodore Roosevelt and the oldest chartered cemetary in the state of Illinois while you take a ride on the Grandview Drive and Springdale Cemetery Tour

The 2015 Trolley Tour schedule is coming soon! Tickets are $15 cash or check. With all tour tickets, passengers will pay a $1 bus fare. Seniors over 65 need a tour ticket but with proof of age are exempt from the $1 fare.

Throughout the year private or group tours are available upon request. Call the Society's office at 309-674-1921 to request a tour or for more information.

 

Membership Swap Weekend April 11 & 12, 2015

The Peoria Historical Society in partnership with the Peoria Zoo, Peoria Riverfront Museum and Wildlife Prairie Park will be open for a membership swap weekend on April 11 and 12. PHS members showing their current membership cards will qualify for complimentary admission to any of the participating organizations. Take part in a scavenger hunt for a chance to win a gift basket with items from all four groups!
