Website Design and Maintenance Project

$5,000 Technology Grant for the purchase of software and continued work on digitizing the Society’s growing collection. This work enables web researchers to access photographs of the collectionand link stories to artifacts and images. The grant also supports the Society’s Facebook page, further connecting PHS to the world via social media. This program is made possible in part by a grant from the Illinois Humanities Council, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Illinois General Assembly.


Crowd Sourcing and Digitization Project 
for the Society's Collection has been made possible by a grant from:

CAP Funds

$7,190 allocation from the Conservation Assessment Program (CAP) to hire two professionals to assessment the Society’s collections and historic structures: to examine current collections and conditions affecting exhibits, storage, and care; to evaluate architectural features of the historic structures owned by the Society – the John C. Flanagan and Pettengill-Morron House Museums. CAP is a program funded through a cooperative agreement between Heritage Preservation and the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences. 


Community Foundation of Central Illinois

$950 grant was received from the Community Foundation of Central Illinois for improvements on the Pettengill-Morron House Museum garage.  The roof was repaired and two sides were painted by four students from Illinois Central College's PCCEO (Peoria Citizens COmmittee for Economic Opportunity Inc.) class.  John Havarhals assisted in the project.
